The Story

In the 1980s, Marina de Lagarda trained at the Pardon School of Design and colour in London, where she developed a deep and personal connection with colour—free from rigid schemes and impervious to fleeting trends. In 1984, she began her career in colour design, experimenting with painting techniques, decorative elements, and textured finishes that breathe new life into spaces.

Her extensive travels have shaped her vision of colour as a universal language: every place, every person has its own chromatic essence, which Marina interprets with sensitivity and mastery. Over the years, she has collaborated with architecture firms, designers, institutions, and prestigious brands, embracing a multidisciplinary approach that blends art, material, and decoration.

Today, her work is the result of over 30 years of research, deep spatial awareness, and continuous experimentation—always guided by the belief that colour is not just an aesthetic choice but a true experience.

Team

The MdL team is made up of a group of creatives and decorators, each skilled in different expressions of colour design—from classical decorations of still lifes and perspectives to textured painting techniques.
Guided by Marina, they work as a Schola, where technique is honed daily in practice, and intuition grows through experience.

The Manifesto

Every space tells a story, and every colour carries an emotion. Marina de Lagarda’s work stems from attentive listening and the pursuit of balance between colour, form and matter.
Each project is unique, crafted with the precision and care of an artisanal school.

Behind every surface lies an idea, behind every shade a journey of experimentation, behind every space a vision taking shape.
The goal is to leave a profound and lasting mark, giving spaces a new expressive depth-one that conveys emotions and tells stories through the power of colour.
